Framing above the slip track is sized per plan, with a six-inch-long piece of 600S162-54 cold-formed steel framing attached to the track. Two number 10 fasteners are installed on each side from the track to the six-inch stud piece, positioned outside of the slots. The connection is left disconnected from the vertical stud to allow vertical movement. A type 2 or 3 jamb stud is specified per plan.
