A Simpson F-series Z-Max galvanized roof hanger is secured typically with one-quarter-inch by two-inch lag screws or number fourteen by two-inch wood screws at twenty-four inches on center on each angle of the top chord, staggered with pre-drilling as required. The assembly includes an angle joist brace provided by the manufacturer, fastened with four ten-penny nails at the top and connected to the steel joist below.
