The steel beam features a top flange notch with a maximum depth of one-half the beam depth up to six inches maximum. A plate is inserted into a slot at the beam web, matched to the flange thickness and width, and secured with one-half inch fillet welds. The beam web connects to the supporting member flange using a bolted connection configured in two rows as required. Minimum two bolts are provided at the second row when required, with dimensions extending three feet zero inches unnotched unless noted otherwise.
