An exterior corner column and joist connection features an embedded plate assembly with four 1/2-inch plates each reinforced with two number 6 by 60-inch rebar. A 1-inch seat plate and a 3/4-inch end plate connect to the steel channel with two 3/4-inch erection bolts per the joist manufacturer specifications. Fillet welds of 1/4-inch size secure the connection plates and angles, including an L4x4x1/4 angle welded to the plate and channel with two 2-1/2 inch by 1/4-inch fillet welds. An infill blockout with concrete or non-shrink grout is provided at the perimeter edge adjacent to the exterior wall assembly.
