A fall protection tieback pedestal and davit connection is mounted to a supporting steel beam. A 6-inch standard pipe post extends upward from the top of steel, capped with a 3/4-inch plate to match the manufacturer's requirements. 3/8-inch full-depth stiffener plates are welded to each side of the column flange with 1/4-inch fillet welds on 3 sides. An intersecting beam connects per plan with connections detailed on sheet 17/S5.01. Exposed mechanical screen framing members require galvanized steel finish, and davit and fall protection systems are connected to the post and base by others, designed for a 5,000-pound ultimate load maximum.
