A structural steel girder frames into a column using a 7/8-inch by 1-foot-9-inch knife plate welded to the assembly. A 3/4-inch by 1-2-inch plate with two 3/4-inch diameter erection bolts provides temporary connection support. Three 3/8-inch stiffener plates at 4-inch gauge are centered along the assembly and welded with 1/4-inch and 5/16-inch fillet welds. A 3/4-inch by 6-inch stabilizer plate wraps around the column and is left unwelded to the girder as noted. The supporting column and framing beams are sized per plan.
