Steel deck bears on structural steel edge beams using continuous bent plates and welded connections. The parallel deck condition incorporates a continuous twelve-gauge bent plate welded to the beam flange with three-quarter-inch diameter studs at twelve inches on center, supplemented by an L4x4x1/4 angle spaced at eight feet maximum. The perpendicular deck condition utilizes a continuous sixteen-gauge bent edge plate beneath the metal deck. Dimensions regulate maximum overhangs and edge clearances to the beam centerline.
