A non-frame pipe column, similar to a hollow structural section, bears on a base plate set above a concrete footing with three inches of non-shrink grout. Anchor bolts secure the base plate and feature double nuts and hardened washers at the top. The embedment length includes a half-inch by four-inch square plate washer embedded at the lower end of each anchor bolt. The concrete footing is reinforced with number four ties spaced at six inches on center with a minimum of three ties at the footing.
