An L4x4x1/2 structural steel angle serves as a bottom flange kicker, connecting to supporting steel beams at each end via a three-eighths inch gusset plate. The angle is fastened with two 1-inch diameter ASTM A325 bolts at each end. Fillet welds of one-quarter inch attach the gusset plates to the beam webs at the work points. Bracing locations and spacing are determined per plan, with arrows indicating the low end of the angle.
