A reinforced concrete loading dock pit is detailed with a six-inch concrete slab reinforced with number four bars at twelve inches on center each way. The pit perimeter incorporates a three-by-three-by-one-quarter-inch angle embed frame with one-half-inch diameter by six-inch long weld stud anchors at twelve inches on center at all pit edges per dock leveler manufacturer specifications. The pit walls bear on a continuous concrete footing with bottom reinforcement per the footing schedule. A ten-foot-zero-inch closure pour strip connects the dock pit to the adjacent six-inch concrete slab and reinforcing per plan. Vertical and horizontal dowels tie the wall panels and slab together, with reinforcing bars bent into the connecting joints.
