A secondary beam connects to a primary girder using double connector plates and screws. The primary girder is routed to receive the connectors, maintaining a maximum one-eighth inch clearance on the sides and bottom. When dimension d1 exceeds half the total depth D, specified reinforcing screws are required on each side of the connection.
