A drag beam connection at a wide flange column is presented in both plan and elevation views. The wide flange beam connects to the wide flange column using Grade 50 plates measuring one-half inch by eight inches by zero feet five inches on each side, secured with seven seven-eighths inch diameter A325-N bolts spaced at three inches over a one foot six inch span. Additional connections utilize complete joint penetration welds and five-sixteenths inch fillet welds. A half-inch top plate ties the assembly together at the column flange. Wood nailers attach to the wide flange beam as specified in the structural plans.
