A buckling restrained brace connects to a gusset plate and a structural column base plate secured by anchor bolts. A Grade 50 shear lug measuring 1 and 3/4 inches by 5 inches spans the full base plate width and embeds into the concrete foundation. One and a half inches of non-shrink grout fills the space beneath the base plate and around the shear lug. The gusset plate features a minimum thickness of 3/4 inch and welds directly to the structure.
