A hollow structural section post connects to a wide flange beam sized per plan at a top of steel elevation defined in plan. The post terminates in a three-quarter-inch base plate secured with four three-quarter-inch diameter anchor bolts. Minimum three-eighth-inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the beam web directly beneath the column load. Welds join the post base and stiffener plates to the structural steel members.
