An HSS brace frames into a one-half-inch-thick ASTM A572 Grade 50 gusset plate welded to an MCx beam and an HSS hanger column. The connection includes fifteen-sixteenths-inch maximum diameter holes provided at the contractor's option for erection typically, spaced with two-inch clearances. Five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds secure the gusset plate and framing members with designated weld spacings. A work point is established at the intersection of the brace and beam centerlines.
