A steel beam connects to a wide flange steel column using a single plate shear tab welded to the column flange and bolted to the beam web with three bolts spaced at three inches typical. One-half-inch stiffener plates are welded inside the column web aligned with the top and bottom flanges of the connected beams. Edge distances and fastener spacings are detailed with typical one-and-one-half-inch and three-inch dimensions.
