This structural detail shows a reinforced concrete slab supported by steel decking running perpendicular to wide-flange steel beams. Welded studs are attached to the top flanges of the beams as required. A continuous number three reinforcing bar is wired to the studs to support the welded wire fabric or reinforcing bars, with one inch of clear cover provided to the welded wire fabric and three-quarters of an inch to the rebar. Additional number three bars at six feet zero inches long are spaced at twelve inches on center at W24 and deeper beams, as well as at the cantilever. The slab edge features a fourteen gauge continuous bent plate edge form with a one-half inch return at the top and two number four continuous bars. The maximum cantilever is two feet zero inches, with a three-inch minimum bearing and two-inch minimum bearing specified at the intermediate supports.
