A structural davit socket pedestal bears onto a seven-eighths-inch-thick cap plate welded to the centerline of the supporting steel column. Two one-half-inch by ten-inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the column web beneath the cap plate, omitted where shear tabs occur. Framing beams connect to the column flanges using shear tabs with four-bolt configurations and a half-inch fillet weld.
