Reinforcing bars extend straight past the face of support column or wall unless a standard hook is required, maintaining a development length of Ld. Beam top and bottom reinforcing laps are detailed with specified lap lengths L and Ld, offsetting at a maximum slope of 1 to 6 with a one-and-one-half inch or wired in contact spacing. Column vertical reinforcing bars are offset with a maximum one-to-six slope for lap splicing.
