A structural steel stair post is welded to a base plate with three-sixteenth-inch typical fillet welds and reinforced by two quarter-inch by three-inch by zero-foot-three-inch stiffener plates. The base plate rests on a half-inch slide bearing pad and is secured to a concrete substrate using half-inch concrete screw anchors with a four-and-a-quarter-inch minimum embedment typical. Additional detailing includes a quarter-inch plate measuring five inches by zero-foot-eight-inches and a quarter-inch by one-and-a-half-inch plate.
