Brace connections to a concrete-filled metal deck are configured both perpendicular and parallel to the deck flutes. Hilti KB-TZ2 expansion anchors with a three-and-one-quarter-inch embedment secure the assembly at the centerline of the low flutes with a maximum one-inch tolerance. The connection utilizes L6x4x5/16 angles measuring one foot six inches for perpendicular runs and one foot for parallel runs, paired with half-inch gusset plates welded with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds at four locations. The diagonal angle brace connects with bolts sized per plan, and the brace angle is adjusted between two-to-one and one-to-one slopes to align anchors with the low flutes. Gusset plates are omitted when the angle leg centerline aligns directly with the centerline of the low flute.
