An HSS beam connects to an HSS column using L3x3x5/16 angles at the top and bottom with a maximum one-half inch gap. The bottom angle length matches the HSS beam width, welded with three-sixteenths inch fillet welds on near side and far side. An HSS beam frames into the opposite side of the column where required per plan.
