A continuous column section passes through the slab with a maximum column penetration of one-half inch into the slab at a typical reinforced concrete column-slab connection. Post-tensioning reinforcement includes banded tendons centered over the column within a dimension defined as column width plus three times the slab thickness, accompanied by distributed tendons placed throughout the remainder of the slab as indicated on the plans. Additional slab reinforcement consists of two number seven support bars placed typically at column supports, and two number five bottom bars running each way with lengths matching corresponding top bars unless noted otherwise on plan. Column vertical and transverse reinforcing sizes are referenced to the structural column schedule.
