This assembly connects a tilt-up concrete panel to the top of a concrete masonry unit wall using an L5x5x3/8 steel angle brace. The connection utilizes one-half inch thick steel plates anchored into both the tilt-up panel and the eight-inch deep CMU bond beam. Each plate is secured with two five-eighths inch diameter threaded rods installed with an adhesive anchoring system, requiring a minimum embedment of three and one-half inches. The CMU wall features two number five continuous reinforcing bars within the bond beam and number five vertical reinforcing bars spaced at forty-eight inches on center, with all reinforced cells grouted solid. Nine-gauge bed joint reinforcement is provided at sixteen inches vertical spacing.
