A concrete slab with metal deck is recessed four inches adjacent to a wall, reinforced with number three Z-bars at twelve inches on center and two number four bars at the perimeter of the recess. The slab and metal deck bear on a continuous six-by-four-by-five-sixteenths angle connected to a structural steel beam sized per plan. An HSS four-by-four-by-one-quarter member supports the recessed framing. A three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld secures the connection.
