An existing or new member 'B' frames into an existing or new member 'A' using a connecting plate of specified thickness. The connection plate is welded to the supporting member web with fillet welds of size 'F' and bolted to the supported member with 'N' bolts arranged in one or two vertical rows. When required, the plate is extended to add a second row containing a minimum of two bolts to achieve the specified fastener count from the connection schedule. Edge distances, clearances, and maximum dimensions relative to the 'k' distance of member 'A' are explicitly dimensioned. Similar conditions apply for beams framing into both sides of the supporting member.
