A continuous steel track connects to a concrete-filled metal deck overhead using three-eighths-inch diameter expansion anchors or screw anchors with two and five-sixteenths-inch embedment centered in each low flute at a maximum of twelve inches on center. A twelve-gauge square plate washer sits beneath each anchor, maintained at a maximum distance of one-quarter inch from the edge of the plate washer to the inside face of the track flange. Metal stud framing attaches to the continuous track with number ten self-tapping sheet metal screws at each flange. Existing concrete reinforcing must be located and avoided prior to drilling to prevent damage. A clearance of one-quarter inch is maintained from the edge of the plate washer to the inside face of the track flange.
