Reinforcing layout around slab openings in concrete fill over metal deck for openings five feet square or smaller. Two number four bars are placed at mid-depth of the slab on each side of the opening, extending three feet past the edge of the opening. Additional diagonal bars and clear spacing dimensions of one and a half inches are maintained around the penetration per the drawing notes.
