Multistory concrete floor slabs and beams require specific percentages of temporary shoring and re-shoring based on the age of the freshly placed and previously placed concrete. Freshly placed concrete at the top floor level requires one hundred percent shoring. Lower levels require varying durations of fifty percent and one hundred percent shoring, ranging from five days to twenty-eight days minimum. All shoring and re-shoring operations must comply with ACI standard recommended practice for concrete formwork, and shores shall not be removed if concrete strength fails to meet the specified strength at twenty-eight days.
