An HSS column bears on a baseplate sized per schedule, welded around its perimeter with a fillet weld sized according to baseplate thickness. The baseplate rests on a minimum of 1 inch of non-shrink grout over a concrete plinth or pilaster. Four 3/4-inch diameter threaded rods with hex nuts and washers anchor the assembly into the concrete, detailed with column, plinth, or pilaster dowels and ties per plan. An optional 1-inch diameter grout hole is provided in the baseplate. A table defines fillet weld sizes ranging from 3/16 inch to 5/16 inch based on baseplate thickness.
