An elevator separator beam frames into a supporting steel beam using one-quarter-inch steel weld plates attached to each side of the steel tube beam with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on three sides. An elevator guide rail support column intersects the assembly via an underground half-inch thick steel base plate welded with one-quarter-inch fillet welds. L8x4x7/16 angles three inches long are provided on each side, utilizing a three-inch long slotted hole in the guide rail support column. Three-quarter-inch diameter A307 through-bolts secure the bracket assembly and are specified to be installed finger tight with scored threads to allow controlled movement. Concrete over a steel deck appears beyond the structural connection.
