A non-frame moment connection joins beams to opposite sides of a steel column flange. Grade 50 connection plates and stiffener plates are specified for the assembly. For opposite beams with a depth difference of up to three inches maximum, the bottom stiffener plate is sloped between the beam flanges. The connection aligns with the centerline of the beam.
