An HSS beam connects to a supporting HSS member using a pair of 1/4 inch by 4 inch by 0 feet 4 inch plates located on each side of the connection. Each side plate is secured with a single 3/4 inch diameter A307 through bolt. A 1/4 inch fillet weld attaches the plate assembly to the supporting member face. Edge distances and spacing are dimensioned at 1/2 inch and 1 1/2 inches.
