This assembly features a concrete stem wall supported by a footing, with a slab-on-grade (S.O.G.) tied into the stem wall six inches below the top. The stem wall is reinforced with number five dowels spaced at twelve inches on center, which extend into the footing, and two number five continuous horizontal bars at the top. A vapor barrier or fifteen-pound building paper is specified at the interface between the stem wall and the cold-formed steel framing, which is provided by others. The stem wall is typically eight inches thick unless otherwise noted, with a minimum depth of two feet six inches to the top of the footing.
