A reinforced concrete trench is integrated into a slab on grade, featuring eight-inch typical concrete walls and a two-foot clear depth and width. The trench rim is supported by embedded steel angle frames consisting of one-and-a-half by one-and-a-half by three-sixteenth-inch angles welded with two half-inch diameter by three-inch studs on four sides. The assembly is reinforced with four number four bars each way placed symmetrically within the trench section. A W-19-14 one-and-a-quarter by one-eighth-inch galvanized steel grating sits flush within the recessed angle frame at the top of the trench.
