The steel beam framing into the column flange utilizes a shear tab with a thickness equal to the beam web thickness plus one-quarter inch, fastened with a quantity and size of bolts determined per plan. A second row of bolts is included as required when spacing dictates. Continuity plates are provided at the top and bottom flanges inside the column, sized using the larger of the two beam flange thicknesses TF1 or TF2. A slope bottom plate is detailed when the beam slope is less than three inches, maintaining a three-inch minimum typical clearance. Top and bottom flange connections use continuity plates with typical welds unless noted otherwise.
