A wide-flange beam connects to a steel joist incorporating a vertical angle strut with a minimum thickness of five-sixteenths of an inch provided by the joist manufacturer. The beam flange is coped as required on both sides where applicable to clear the connection. Bolt sizes and quantities are determined per the schedule. Fillet welds of one-quarter inch are specified at the angle connections.
