A tension rod roof brace connection attaches to a cross-laminated timber roof deck. A three-quarter-inch thick plate is anchored to the underside of the timber deck using forty-four SDS25500 structural wood screws. Oversized holes in the plate permit skewed screw installation, with hole diameters restricted to three-eighths of an inch and screw heads not required to sit flush with the plate. Tension rods with number three clevises connect to the plate centered below the working point. Fillet welds connect the gusset assembly members.
