A single number four reinforcing bar, six feet long, is placed diagonally across the corners of slab openings. Each side of the opening receives one number four bar, four feet long, as typical reinforcement for man doors, windows, and large doors. The diagonal bars are set at a forty-five-degree angle relative to the opening edge, with a two-foot extension beyond the opening corner. A two-foot clear span is maintained between the diagonal bar segments.
