An HSS steel column splice is detailed with a three-quarter-inch thick steel plate matching the column dimensions, positioned four feet above the finish floor and welded with three-eighth-inch fillet welds. Continuous steel beams frame into the column assembly utilizing full-height stiffener plates or single plates on each side unless noted otherwise. Plates SCP-1 and SCP-2 connect the structural members using one-quarter-inch fillet welds.
