Concrete over metal deck bears perpendicularly on a structural steel beam sized per plan, requiring a minimum two-inch bearing width on the top flange. An end closure is provided per the deck supplier at the beam centerline, with a six-inch offset unless noted otherwise. A continuous number four reinforcing bar runs along the edge within the concrete slab. An edge form with a minimum thickness of forty-three mils is designed by the deck supplier.
