Metal deck bears on a steel beam with the bottom flute of the deck located over the beam centerline. Shear studs are welded through the metal deck into the beam top flange with single and double stud configurations. Dimensions establish a four-inch minimum deck bearing width, a three-inch minimum bearing for each sheet, and a one-inch maximum offset from the beam centerline. Additional dimensions specify spacing and clearances for the stud layouts.
