A stair stringer connects to a structural steel tube using a three-eighths-inch end plate and a three-eighths by three-inch by zero-foot-eight-inch plate on the far side. A three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld secures the plate to the tube member. Additional three-sixteenths-inch welds connect the stringer assembly to the structural support.
