A wide flange beam frames continuously over a supporting wide flange column with a type XS connection referenced elsewhere. Stiffener plates matching the column flange thickness are welded to each side of the column web. A bearing plate matching the column width and depth sits between the members and secures with four 3/4-inch diameter A325 thru-bolts at standard gauge. Fillet welds of five-sixteenths inch size on three sides attach the assembly.
