A wide flange beam frames into the web of a wide flange column using a typical shear plate connection. Three-eighths-inch thick top and bottom stiffener plates with cropped corners are welded to the column to clear the column k-distance. Stiffener plates are welded to the column web and flange per Table 1. Additional beams occur on both sides of the column per plan.
