A ledger splice plate extends four inches minimum beyond the joist bearing angle where partial bearing would otherwise occur. The assembly incorporates a four-inch by four-inch by three-quarter-inch by one-foot-zero-inch bearing angle for K-joists, or a six-inch by four-inch by seven-eighths-inch by one-foot-zero-inch bearing angle for long-span (LH) and deep long-span (LLH) joists. Four three-quarter-inch by six-inch Nelson studs are positioned at the end of each ledger, complemented by two three-quarter-inch by six-inch Nelson studs nearby. The channel top flange may be notched a maximum of four inches on each side of the joist at the contractor's option, returning the panel leg as detailed.
