A horizontal construction joint in a reinforced concrete wall features continuous reinforcing running through the joint. A form tie is located at the top of the first pour at the exposed face. When both faces are exposed, continuous two-by-four blocking is required on both sides. The blocking must be removed and the form tie tightened before placing the second concrete pour.
