Four standard structural steel base plate configurations are detailed for wide flange and hollow structural section columns. Type W1 shows a wide flange column centered on a rectangular base plate with corner anchor bolt holes spaced one and one-half inches typically from the plate edges. Type W2 shows a wide flange column with four anchor bolts arranged in pairs flanking the web with equal spacings and edge dimensions. Type T1 details a square hollow structural section column centered on a base plate with four corner anchor bolts. Type T2 shows an offset structural tube base plate with unsymmetrical anchor bolt placements and edge clearances of one-half inch typically.
