A concrete equipment pad is cast directly onto a concrete slab supported by metal deck. The top of the slab is roughened to a one-quarter-inch amplitude to ensure bond. Reinforcing consists of number four bars at twelve inches on center each way, supplemented by number four dowels at twelve inches on center embedded with a twelve-inch lap length. Concrete cover maintains two inches at the top and one and one-half inches typical elsewhere. The pad profile requires a minimum five-inch height up to eight inches maximum, with a six-inch minimum set-back typical at the edge.
