A structural beam frames into a masonry wall assembly with welded plate connections. Steel reinforcement wire fabric of 4x4-W2.1xW2.1 WWF is embedded within the masonry. Field welds with sizes specified at 7/16-inch and 5/8-inch tie the steel components together, followed by grout placement after welding. Low-hydrogen electrodes are specified typically for the welding process.
